Anime Characters With The INFP Personality Type
10. Yuri Katsuki (Yuri On Ice)
Yuri Katsuki encapsulates what many INFP personality types experience in their day-to-day lives. A competitive skater, Yuri shows his indifference towards winning throughout the show. An imaginative yet shy character, Yuri keeps to his core values and prefers to focus on the experiences around him rather than focusing on what's actually happening in his current reality.
At the beginning of the series, he’s shown to be stuck in a rut of unhealthy habits. However, by the end, and with the influence of Victor, Yuri becomes a more playful and inspired version of himself.
9. Levy McGarden (Fairy Tail)
Levy McGarden is a cheerful, upbeat character in the Fairy Tail universe. It is rare that we get to see a character such as herself step into the role that she does, and it is highly refreshing.
A positive character in power, she won’t engage in fights or conflicts without proper justification. A fair person, her intelligence is shown through idealism, which makes her naturally trustworthy to others.
8. Shizuku Tsukishima (Whisper of the Heart)
Shizuku Tsukishima is a textbook INFP character. Stuck in her own world of daydreams, she lets her passion be her own driving force. This character embraces escapism, often lost in fantasy books she gets from the library.
A lot of INFP personalities will relate to this character because of the way her imagination wanders and how she is always lost in her inner world. Shizuku encapsulates some of the social struggles that INFPs find themselves experiencing in their own lives.
7. Tamaki Amajiki (My Hero Academia)
One of the most lovable characters from this series, Tamaki is a fantastic example of an INFP introvert. Being a highly-skilled character, Tamaki is a very shy character who always has a calmness about him.
His empathy for others allows him to see where his limits should lie. Naturally kind and generous, his humility makes Tamaki attractive to those around him. An idealist, he comes up with creative solutions, which solidifies him as an INFP.
6. Mitsuha Miyamizu (Your Name)
A natural idealist, Mitsuha is a character who yearns for a life outside the routine she lives in her hometown. Many INFP characters will relate to this trait of yearning for more than they have; a life that has more personal fulfillment.
Mitsuha is naturally curious, and she loves to experience new things. She is easily able to adapt when she suddenly swaps bodies with Taki Tachibana. INFPs will empathize and deeply relate to Mitsuha’s dreamy and caring nature.
5. Akane Tsunemori (Psycho-Pass)
Akane Tsunemori is a detective who is driven by her morality and sense of justice. Akane is very shy, but like many INFPs, she’s prone to losing her temper when others do things she sees as deeply immoral. She allows her insight and idealism to lead her through life.
Akane has a philosophical nature that allows her to look inwardly when it comes to making important decisions for herself. She needs to see the moral logic and reasoning behind the decisions she makes. This is how she seeks and follows her purpose in life; a trait most INFPs can definitely relate to.
4. Shinji Ikari (Evangelion)
Another introverted INFP character, Shinji, is extremely shy. He is given the daunting task of having to save mankind. Oftentimes, this causes him to withdraw inwardly a lot, especially when he feels he is getting too close to others.
Although he carries massive weight and pressure, Shinji remains a generous and selfless character. His main source of safety is found in music, which all INFPs can find highly relatable. Behind all the difficulties he experienced, he constantly seeks out his purpose in life and looks inwardly to himself for guidance.
3. Alphonse Eric (Fullmetal Alchemist)
A gentle giant, Alphonse is a lovely character who will do everything he can to help anyone he comes across. He is led by his strong morality to make the right decisions.
Alphonse’s natural protectiveness and loyalty are highly relatable to many INFPs. He even acts as the verbal conscience of his brother Edward; something that many INFPs will find themselves doing in their lives.
2. Kaneki Ken (Tokyo Ghoul)
This character is a prime example of an INFP who fights with all his might to stay completely true to himself. INFPs need personal freedom and a sense of authenticity in all facets of life. Kaneki fears losing his individuality and having to go against his moral code.
Despite being a gentle and introverted character, Kaneki will do everything he can to protect the people he loves most, even at the risk of his own personal safety.
1. Gaara (Naruto)
Gaara is deeply complicated. This character embodies both the positive and unhealthy traits that we see in an INFP. Gaara went from a bright and positive young child to someone who fully embraced the negative aspects of his personality. This caused him to put up an emotional wall and made him think he needed to commit atrocities to fulfill his inner purpose.
INFPs probably won’t relate to a lot of Gaara’s evil actions, but when he finally returns to the path of good, people get to witness his compassion and natural sense of curiosity, a trait all INFPs possess. In the end, Gaara finds his purpose in creating a world filled with balance and harmony.
